The thing about three year olds, is that they can't focus. At about the 45 second mark in a toddler minute, something else becomes more interesting.
"Each vine had a heart shaped leaf."
After ballet I told her she was losing some of privileges for the evening, for not listening. We started walking back to the car and I was still pretty annoyed. It was a long walk and we passed a patch of vines. As I was looking around I noticed that each vine had a heart shaped leaf.
We walked a different day than usual because we needed to make a pit stop before heading to the car.
Suddenly, there were a million heart shaped leaves in my path.
This heart shaped leaf is a humbling reminder to slow myself down, take more notice, and live a more heart shaped life.
P.S. I still don't think we ready for ballet class.
